Richard Schofield is a retired Merchant Mariner and U.S. Navy veteran who spent a lifetime on the water before turning his restless curiosity toward the deep past. Now living in Central Florida, he has long been a student of archaeology, anthropology, and the lives of the people who came long before us.
That question — could I survive? — eventually grew into The Bone of the Moons. What began as a thought experiment became a journey into Ice Age survival, early human innovation, and the struggles of people trying to build a future in a dangerous world. His fascination with how our distant ancestors lived, loved, and endured continues to drive every page he writes.
Schofield is currently working on additional novels set in the same prehistoric world, following new generations as they explore, trade, compete, and discover what it means to become a people.
